The Ayurvedic Bazaar is undergoing a major upgrade. The page used as a prototype was Sewanti. Below, you will find an introduction to this new product line. The company is owned and operated by Neelam Toprani, a near neighbor in British Columbia. In Canada, all health care products must be tested for purity before they are licensed by Health Canada which has the same basic good manufacturing practices as France, Sweden, the U.K., Australia, and Switzerland.

In performing the analyses, the herbs are checked for toxic metals, biological contaminants, and residues of pesticides.  To meet the GMP standards, they must not only pass stringent tests but be manufactured in a GMP facility.  Neelam is not only committed to product purity but also to fair trade, meaning the farmers who produce the herbs used in the formulas are fairly compensated.  I work hard to partner with people whose ethics I trust so adding the Sewanti product line to the Ayurvedic Bazaar has been an honor.

Initially, I only carried a few products, but now, I have the entire product line and it is discounted by 20% for one week only to allow those who are interested to check out the quality for themselves.  One of the products, Rheumat, has even deeper discounts because Neelam is going to change the name and the capsule count on the next production run.  Rheumat is a Yogaraj Guggul formula for clearing the joints of "ama" or toxins.  It is dosha balancing to the joints.

Guggul is a resin from the Commiphora mukul tree and considered to be a rasayana or rejuvenative herb in Ayurveda.  The action of guggul is deeply penetrating and it serves to mobilize lipids and fluids that build up in the tissues.  While its action is mainly on kapha accumulations, the other herbs in the formula may be more specific to other doshas so there are many formulas based on guggul.  Rheumat is a bit more cooling than some of these formulas so it helps to clear pitta as well, meaning heat, toxins, and inflammation due to toxins.

You probably think I am obsessed about parasites, but just yesterday, I watched a video on malaria.  Half a billion people on the Planet have malaria and the epidemic is not confined to the tropics because a mosquito can infect people who have never traveled beyond the temperate world if just one of the victims was a carrier.  I saw this in Salzburg when the weather was extremely hot (in August) and more than half the patients had either been to the tropics or lived in proximity to someone who had lived in the tropics.

There are countless diseases besides malaria that are mosquito-borne and one of these is chikungunya, a disease that started in Australia and became epidemic in the tropics and now is moving through Europe.  It is characterized by a few days of fever and then a prolonged arthalgic state in which the joints ache so much that patients don't want to get out of bed.  These are just two of the countless conditions that may be viral or parasitic but long after the fever has subsided, the pain is still there.  Regular body maintenance pays off big time so I believe that recognizing the deeper causes of discomfort helps us to commit to detoxification and regeneration.

When you visit the recently updated Sewanti page, keep in mind that the sidebar navigation is not all working yet.  You can get some live links and dead ones, but every day, more and more links have been activated.  In short, this remains a work in progress, not an S.O.S. for tech support.
